Dhigufaru Island Resort sits on the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll. The island's name means 'a long reef', and its main feature is the expansive reef that surrounds it; the island itself is only 35,000 square metres, with a sheltered cove beach called Boaku on the eastern face that forms a natural pool and catches the sunrise, and the wide flat white-sand Veigandu (Veli) beach on the western face for sunsets. Accommodation runs from beach villas and pool villas to semi-water villas, water villas, a two-bedroom family villa and the Sangu Suite, served by a main buffet restaurant, an over-water specialty restaurant, two bars and a pavilion lounge. There is a PADI dive school, a water sports centre, the Funa Spa with salon, sauna and steam room, and the Baraveli Kids Club with its own swimming pool.
