Opened in 2006, the resort offers 110 suites and villas, from sunrise and sunset beach villas to over water suites above the lagoon, many with private pools and Villa Host service. Dining spans South Asian, Japanese, Thai, Italian and international restaurants, and the over water Anantara Spa has six treatment suites. A children's club, Aquafanatics dive and water sports centre, Tropicsurf surfing and Spice Spoons cooking classes make it a resort equipped for families as well as couples.

Anantara Spa is set over clear turquoise waters, with six over water treatment suites, two open-air salas over water for Thai massage, a facial room and beauty salon, a hair salon, an expansive over water pre- and post-treatment relaxation deck with hot and cold plunge pool, a steam room and sauna, and indoor and outdoor showers. Treatments are inspired by indigenous practice and ingredients, with packages designed for couples. The signature treatment is the Anantara Signature Massage, exclusive to Anantara Spa, combining eastern and western techniques with a signature oil blend. For holistic Ayurveda-inspired journeys, guests visit Balance Wellness by Anantara at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort.

Children

A children's club with a weekly schedule of activities, plus child-minding services. The Festive Brochure 2026-2027 names it the Dhoni Kids' Club and lists a daily programme running from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm (craft, water games, beach games, movie/disco/karaoke nights); some sessions carry a supplement of USD 12 or USD 20 per child with advance reservation required.

Weddings & celebrations

Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort arranges symbolic weddings and vow renewals. Private wedding receptions can be tailored to the size of the wedding party in a choice of restaurants and locations around the lagoon islands.
